Mandala Wellness Retreat and Spa is a small, beautiful retreat in the peaceful mountains just north of Atlanta, GA.
Our Personal Retreat Programs are designed for people who may be world-weary or in need of sanctuary for any number of reasons and would like to come on a retreat where counseling and other supportive clinical consultations are offered.
Perhaps you are going through a life transition, or healing from illness or loss, or you might be on a journey toward increased self-awareness and spiritual discovery and looking for tools and support to move you forward in your quest. Personal Retreats are facilitated by Linda L. Davis, MSW who offers psychological, emotional and spiritual support for your journey.
Mandala provides beautiful, comfortable accommodations; simple, fresh and delicious meals (mostly- vegetarian, with fish and chicken options); breathtaking views, time in nature—whether walking nearby trails, star-gazing or simply relaxing on the deck - along with options for individual consultations, therapies and treatments to guide your way.
When you're ready, we invite you to step away from the hectic pace of your everyday life - to slow down and give yourself the time and space to breathe, to rest, to reflect and to renew.
We know that getting underway for such a retreat requires inspiration, motivation and courage on your part. We are happy to talk with you and answer your questions prior to your arrival so that you will feel comfortable and welcomed when you arrive. Linda L. Davis, MSW directs Mandala Wellness Retreat in North Georgia. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1980, Linda provides Psychotherapy and Counseling for individuals and couples and is also a Certified Yoga Instructor, Wellness Educator, and Certified Hypnotherapist.
Linda holds degrees in Psychology and Clinical Social Work. She is considered an expert in mind/body health and wellness, particularly in the areas of anxiety, phobias and stress relief. She has advanced clinical training in Narrative Therapy, Art and Creative Therapies, body-focused psychotherapy, NLP, Hypnosis and Guided Imagery. She has also been an avid student and practitioner of Hatha Yoga, T'ai Chi, Qi Gong, Buddhist psychology and Mindfulness (Vipassana) Meditation for many years and blends the wisdom and skills gained from these ancient traditions into her healing work.

I meet with each person as a special, respected individual and invite you to describe what you wish to accomplish or what weighs heavy on your heart. Counseling sessions are suited for people experiencing anxiety, worry, depression or loss or for those who need support and guidance to navigate life's many transitions. The program is also suited for those who may be feeling discouraged on a spiritual level. Couples may also benefit by learning skills for improving their relationship and communication by becoming more compassionate, flexible, supportive, respectful and kind.
Linda offers her open-hearted presence and may suggest topics for inquiry, instruction for meditation or self-reflection, or ideas for journaling or other creative expression to help you on your journey. All faiths are welcomed and respected.
Hypnotherapy Hypnosis provides a valuable tool to assist you in making significant changes in your life. In a pleasant state of relaxation, positive suggestions can help you lose weight, stop smoking, overcome fears, sleep better, release negative behaviors, develop higher self-esteem and much more.
Stress Relief & Relaxation Session Learn to enhance your coping skills for handling the fast pace of life. The session will address your personal concerns and teach you helpful skills for dealing with them including progressive relaxation, self-hypnosis, and imagery designed to help you let go of stress and concerns on many levels.
Ayurvedic Nutrition & Life Balancing Consultation Ayurveda is the ancient healing science of India. After assessing your body type (or dosha) we'll discuss which foods and life choices will bring you into better balance.
Private Yoga Session: Gentle Hatha Yoga teaches mindful stretching and breathing along with yoga postures intended to help you relax, tone, balance and restore.
Private QiGong/T'ai Chi Exercise session. Sometimes called "Chinese Yoga" - these simple, health-inducing movements are meditative and balancing.
Mindfulness Meditation Instruction teaches a present-moment awareness that allows us to be more calm, spacious and awake in all aspects of our lives.
A Note About Who Should Not attend a Personal Retreat & Our Pre-Retreat Conversation. If you are stuggling with an active addiction to drugs or alcohol or if you have a serious mental or physical illness, our Retreats would not be appropriate for you. Please be in touch if we can offer referrals to other facilities or professionals or if you have questions.
Anyone who would like to attend a personal retreat is requested to speak with Linda by phone prior to our taking your deposit. We want to be sure that our program is a good match for your needs.

The Four-Day Personal Retreat:
This retreat includes the following clinical services:
- 3 hours of individual Counseling, Hypnosis, Nutrition and Lifestyle Guidance or private yoga, qigong or meditation instruction with Linda L. Davis, msw
- 1 Hour of Stress Reduction and Progressive Relaxation Classes, and
- One creativity session (with a variety of possible activities such as journaling, mandala drawing or collaging/vision-boarding (no artistic abilities required).
Your retreat also includes:
- Three Delicious Meals a Day. Breakfast is at the Inn, and Mandala's cafe' features gourmet vegetarian dishes, along with chicken and fish options, for lunch and dinner. Our meals are created with natural, organic, and locally grown prouduce whenever possible.
- Daily Exercise opportunities including yoga, qigong, mindful movement, walking the nature trail, staff-accomapnied walks at the nearby lake or woods, or optional outings for longer hikes or horseback riding, golf, fly-fishing, or river rafting if you choose.
- Mindfulness Meditation Class
- Two hours of services in Mandala's Spa
- Plenty of free time to rest, journal, read, relax or "just be."
The Six-DayPersonal Retreat: This retreat includes all of the above services PLUS:
2 additional hours of Individual Counseling, Hypnosis or Nutrition and Lifestyle guidance
2 Additional Hours of Spa Services of Your Choice

The current programs begin on Sunday afternoon with check-in at the Inn starting at 2 pm and dinner in the cafe' at 6 pm. The 4-day program ends on the following Thursday after breakfast. The 6-day program ends on the following Saturday after breakfast. Please call as early as possible to secure the dates of your choice.

The Commuter Option Program is for those who live nearby, or may choose other accomodations than the Inn next door. This cost Includes the full program and lunch on each day.

There are two ground floor rooms: Room 2 has a queen-size bed and is handicap accessible. Room 1 has 2 twin beds. All others have one King-size bed and accommodates one or two guests. Room # 7 also offers an additional futon bed.
Our prices (other than the commuter option) for the 4 and 6-day inclusive retreats the full program, lodging and taxes, and all meals. Gratuities for the Spa and Café staff are also included so these prices are all-inclusive. Of course, you may add services or explore optional outings prior to arrival or once you are here.

Mini-Retreats - from 2 to 4 days
You may also arrange a shorter Personal Renewal Retreat on the dates of your choice (depending on availability). Give us a call or email with your choice of dates. Please be in touch as early as you can to be sure of having the dates and services of choice.
A Basic Two–Day Personal Renewal Retreat offers:
- Two hours of consultation with Linda L. Davis, msw, where you may choose among counseling, hypnosis, Ayurvedic Nutrition and Lifestyle Balancing, Stress Relief and Relaxation or Yoga, QiGong or Mindfulness Meditation Instruction.
- One hour-long spa session
- A delicious spa lunch in the Mandala Café both days.
- Plenty of time for rest and reflection—enjoying the decks, lounge areas and grounds on our mountaintop. You may choose to draw or journal or "just be."
Basic Cost for the above: $295 (per person/2 days).
If you'd like, you may stay next door at the Mountain Top Inn. Lodging Cost range between $160 and $210 (plus tax) per night, depending on your room choice. This price also includes Lucille's wonderful breakfast! Our front desk will answer any questions and make your room arrangements as well. Dinner in Mandala's Cafe: $18 per person (including gratuity)
If you'd like to extend your stay to more than 2 days:
Each additional Retreat Day offers:
- A one-hour session with Linda (with the same choices as above)
- A One-Hour Spa Service
- A delicious Lunch in Mandala's Café.
- Cost: $199/ per person per day, Plus the room and dinner options listed above.
General & Cancellation Policies for Personal Retreats:
We ask for a $400 deposit to hold your place in a 6-day program, $200 for a 4-day program, and $50 per day for Mini-retreats (with the balance due upon arrival). You may send a check ahead or call our front desk with a credit card.
We realize that making a decision to come to a Life Balancing Retreat requires a commitment of both time and finances on your part. Since our facility is quite small, we need to be sure that each person who wants to attend is able to do so and that we keep our costs as low as possible. Therefore our cancellation policy is as follows:
If you notify us more than 2 weeks from the start of the retreat, we'll refund your deposit minus a $50 fee. For notice given 14 days or less from the start of the retreat there will be no refund. Also, we cannot offer refunds for late arrivals or early departures.
Travel: Driving instructions can be seen on this site's "About Us" Page. If you're flying, the nearest airport is Atlanta International. We have a driver available or you may choose to rent a car.
In the remote possibility that weather prevents a retreat from taking place, (February and March can bring light snow or ice to our area) we will, of course, offer an alternative date or a full refund—your choice.. |
