Our lives are usually so busy that we've forgotten how refreshing it can be to slow down into the easier, more peaceful parts of ourselves. Particulary during these stressful times, it's important to take time  for yourself to replenish and rest.

Mandala is pleased to offer retreats, classes and workshops to help you refresh mind, body and spirit so that you can return to your world with more balance and a greater perspective. 


Worry-Free Weekends

Designed to help you unwind and renew, this flexible program allows you to come to the Saturday workshop only or to expand your time to a full weekend.

Mindfulness Meditation and Relaxation
Saturday, 10:30 - 1:00,  June 13th & July 11th 
with Linda L. Davis, msw

The workshop will open with mindful movement using simple exercises from both yoga and qigong. Allowing the body to lighten up and loosen up naturally invites more peace and relaxation. From this foundation, we'll practice mindfulness meditation which invites a spacious, present-moment awareness for all of our activities. We'll also explore healing uses of the breath - especially those that can calm and center us, and we'll end with a deep relaxation session using  guided imagery. Be prepared to leave feeling balanced and refreshed.
 
Beginners (as well as those more experienced), in yoga, qigong or meditation will feel quite comfortable in this workshop designed to benefit  people of all ages and (most) states of health.

Come to the Workshop Only: $40

Package Option # 1 If you'd like to attend the workshop, enjoy a spa lunch plus a One-Hour Relaxation Massage, you may sign up for all 3 at a discounted cost of $130.00/per person (exclusive of spa/cafe gratuities)

Package Option # 2: Adds one night next door at Lucille's MountainTop Inn in a Valley-View Room to Option # 1 for a discounted total of $330.00/ per person (plus tax/gratuities). Room prices are the same for one or two guests and include breakfast.

Yoga From the Ground Up - A One-Day Yoga Workshop
with Darlene Bink, Saturday, June 20th from 10:30 - 4:30                         
Fee: $75 (includes lunch), deposit: $20
Mid-day break for lunch, walking or spa: 12:30 - 2:30

What will you learn?

Experience a true sense of grounding by connecting with the earth, and allowing the breath to flow freely with your body's natural movement. You will also learn how to "soften" and "let go" by understanding the process of "undoing."

You will learn to move from your center outward and discover the natural WAVE of your spine.

You will be encouraged to cultivate creativity in your pracitice and experience a new-found freedom, space and joy within your body.

Darlene introduces new ways of moving into Yoga postures in a relaxed stle, allowing students to become challenged as much or as little as they prefer. She encourages students to find the ease in every pose allwoing the body to be free and light.

Along with exploring Asana, there will be guided Pranayama, meditation, and partner work. This workshop is sure to be a good Yoga experience for both beginning to more advanced students.

Darlene has been influenced by the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli and Erich Schiffmann.

Life Balancing Retreat Weeks

These special retreat weeks are offered at least once a month at Mandala with options to Quit Smoking or Lose Weight in Natural Ways as well as Personal Retreats where psychological, emotional and spiritual support is offered with holistic counseling for those going through life transitions, dealing with hard times,  or to enjoy much-needed time for rebalancing your life.
 
While you can always come on a self-designed retreat at Mandala - whether for a day, a weekend getaway, a week, or longer, our Life Balancing Retreat Weeks add more texture to your experience with a wider variety of possible activites and teachers as well as enjoying the company and support of like-minded others. All of the retreats at Mandala are quite small with no more than 6 participants at any one time.

 
Ongoing Classes At Mandala

Practicing Yoga, QiGong or t'ai chi enhances your well-being on many levels. Please dress comfortably and don’t eat for at least an hour before class. Drop-in students are always welcomed. Linda also offers private lessons in yoga, qigong and meditation ($75/hr). Call the desk to schedule.

Yoga
Hatha Yoga allows you to unite body and mind in harmony and strength through practicing postures, stretches, breathing, meditation and relaxation. Hatha yoga’s many benefits include improved circulation, respiration, glandular function and metabolism. With practice, yoga can change your body and your life in many positive ways. You’ll develop a healthier spine and additional endurance and flexibility, along with increased vitality and joy in your life.

Gentle Hatha Yoga with Linda Davis
Wednesdays, 10:15 - 11:30 a.m.

This class is ongoing and new students are always welcomed.

People often say that they think they are “too old, too stiff, or too heavy” to come to a yoga class. Not this one! "Every Body" will feel welcomed - and will probably grow younger, lighter and more flexible as time goes by.

This beneficial, enjoyable class is suited for beginning and intermediate level students as well as anyone who enjoys an easy pace.

Linda has been a student and teacher of yoga for many years. Her Teacher Training, in l998, was in Integrative Yoga Therapy, a Yoga Alliance Certified Training Program.

Linda also offers private Yoga, Yoga Therapy, t'ai chi or QiGong classes at $75/hour.

FlowerHatha/Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Brooke Manor
Thursdays, 6-7:15 pm (beginning June 11th)

Brooke Manor is certified in group fitness, spinning and boot camp and is currently pursuing her Personal Training Certification. She studied and practiced Bikram Yoga for many years under the direction of Jimmy Barkan and his proteges. Brooke has degrees in Alternative Medicine and co-owns Roots N' Remedies, a natural wellness store on the square in Clarkesville. Brooke teaches a blend of Hatha and Vinyasa-style flowing Yoga. She believes in utilizing yoga practice to unite body, mind and spirit and to create harmony in our lives.

This class is well-suited for Advanced Beginners (those who have attended a few classes with any teacher and who have a basic understanding of yoga) up to  Intermediate Level students. 
 
FlowerHatha Yoga (with Linda Davis & Brooke Manor alternating classes)
Saturdays 9:15 - 10:30 (beginning June 20th)

Well-suited for beginning to intermediate level students, this class fits the descriptions above for the classes offered by Linda and Brooke.

Cost for Yoga Classes: $12 for one class, $100/10 classes  or $66 for 6 classes (to be used within 3 months). Classes ARE interchangeable.

FlowerT'ai Chi QiGong for Health
 Mondays 5:00-5:45 p.m.  

Practicing the ancient art of qiqong opens the flow of chi, or vital energy, in our bodies and is an exceptional self-healing technique practiced by millions of people worldwide. Qigong is sometimes referred to as “Chinese Yoga.” It is similar to our more familiar yoga in that it also tones the mind, body and spirit. Daily practice improves overall health and longevity and increases fortitude, strength and balance while reducing stress and promoting peace of mind.

No matter what your health or fitness goals, qigong can help you achieve them in a balanced, gentle way. People of all ages will benefit. The exercises take very little time, are low impact, fun, and easy to learn.

Cost for Qi Gong:: $10 for one class or $90 for a series of 10 classes (to be used within 3 months).

FlowerVegetarian Supper
Mondays at 6:00 pm. 

A light vegetarian meal will be offered in Mandala’s café’ at 6:00 pm following Qi Gong.
Cost of supper is $10.00 (including tax). Please reserve ahead and no later than Monday noon.

You are welcomed to come to Qigong, supper, or meditation – One, any combination, or all.

FlowerMindfulness Meditation Group
Mondays at  6:45 - 7:30 pm. 

Peace & CalmMindfulness Meditation teaches a compassionate, present-moment awareness, inviting us to wake up to a fuller, happier life. This 2500 year-old tradition derives from Buddhist philosophy but no special beliefs are necessary for its practice.

The class will include talks on developing wholesome qualities in ourselves such as patience, generosity, love and tolerance. Beginners and more experienced students will feel quite comfortable.

Cost: Linda offers this class on a donation basis.
